Bálint Zsolt Raposa was born in 2007 and is currently a senior student at Aszódi Lutheran Petőfi High School. He has completed his studies with excellent results so far. Bálint has been interested in the natural sciences since a very young age, as his grandmother, who was a chemistry and mathematics teacher, introduced him to the field of research. In the 7th grade, he began participating in various chemistry and mathematics competitions at the encouragement of his teachers, achieving 5th place in the semi-finals of the Hevesy György National Chemistry Competition. During his high school years, he became acquainted with the Research Student Movement and the National Science and Innovation Olympiad, where his special interest in batteries began. As a 9th-10th grader, he developed a liquid battery, but as it did not prove to be economically viable, he began developing a so-called lithium-air battery in collaboration with the University of Debrecen in the 11th grade. With this innovation, he won 2nd place at the 24th TUDOK (National Conference of Researching Students). This year, he also achieved 2nd place in the 33rd National Science and Innovation Olympiad. Due to his success in the Olympiad, he was invited to the London International Youth Science Forum. He completed his 11th grade with advanced chemistry and English exams, scoring over 90% in both.
He holds a Cambridge C1 Advanced language exam in English and is preparing for an intermediate-level exam in German.
In addition to his academic pursuits, he is also passionate about sports. He has been practicing taekwondo since the age of 8 and has earned a 1st dan black belt through his perseverance. He has achieved outstanding results in several international competitions and also holds a referee’s license. Recently, he has also been involved in dynamic shooting.
I am incredibly grateful to be part of the Research Student Movement because the community is the place where you truly find your place.
