XLAB International Science Camp - Summer 2010
2009.12.11
In 2010 XLAB organizes an early Camp in June/July and one in August.
The courses cover current topics in Physics, Biology and Chemistry.
As over the past years XLAB likes to invite high school and first year university students, age about 16 to 20 years, from all over the world to participate in the XLAB International Science Camps. The Camps will take place in summer 2010. XLAB is situated on the science campus of the famous University of Goettingen (Germany, Lower Saxony). It collaborates with scientific institutes of university and affiliated research organizations. In 2010 XLAB organizes an early Camp in June/July and one in August. The courses cover current topics in Physics, Biology and Chemistry. The annual International Science Camps are very successful. Since the first camp in 2003, more than 320 students from at least 32 different nations participated in the camps. Three weeks of laboratory work are rounded off by an elaborate social program and a three day trip to Berlin at the end of the camp. On August 22nd of 2009 XLAB celebrated the 10th and 11th International Science Camp. For this reason XLAB invited it's alumni to come back to Göttingen and to join a symposium entitled "Science is international". This was a successful event, where further Science Camp participants gave talks about their scientific career and their present research projects. In 2010 we will accept 30 students for each Camp and as usual not more than 4 students from each country. Further information can be found on our flyer on our website http://www.xlab-goettingen.de/sciencecamp.html. There you find, among other information, the schedule for 2010. Besides the International Science Camp the XLAB offers experimental science courses all the year round. Just have a look on our website http://www.xlab-goettingen.de XLAB heartily welcomes students from all European countries, as well as students from every place in the world! We ask teachers, students, scientists and political authorities to distribute this message among bright and talented students you know. In case of further questions please do not hesitate to contact the organizers: c.battmer@xlab-goettingen.de
